Are cruise ship freqs. included in the Homepatrol1?

I don't believe that they are (I've not seen them in RadioReference database). You might want to check before going on a cruise with a scanner...they may or may not be allowed, depending on the operator's rules.

Can the ship freqs., in the range of 450-470, be manually entered?
before I cruise I always get written permission to operate my radio gear....transmitters and receivers. Never had a problem getting approval.

Yes - same as the other reply re: marine freq.

FYI - I'd set up a favorite for your cruise, the marine channels, those 450mhz freq. - plus anything else you want.

FWIW I've always had pretty poor luck with cruise ship scanning. Much of the traffic is not in English and there didn't seem to be much overall.

I've had good luck and always have heard English spoken. Sorry you have not had a good monitoring experience.
