Just purchased the 536 and overall, I am happy with it. Not a significant improvement from the HP-1 for me because our local systems are all P25 and most even conventional still.
The realization that the 536 is a base/mobile only does make me appreciate more how the HomePatrol format with the flexibility of having battery power for portable use wherever you go.
So with that in mind; I'm wondering how many folks on here may have both of these units?
If so; is it easy to duplicate (clone) the units where basically you would have the 536 as a base/mobile and the 436 as your portable version.
Anyone? Just wanting to know that if I purchase a 436 handheld... would I be able to use the Sentinel software I already have installed for my 536 and basically just have a handheld "clone" of my 536? I'm guessing I could; just wondering if it's a simple process or would I essentially have to program, update, etc. the two separately?
I have the Hp1 that I currently monitor ( Different sentinel) and only has Apco 25 phase one. But that said I can duplicate all on the HP1 that I monitor on the 536
The BCD536 and 436 use identical sentinel program. Making it easy for you to favorites all your programs on each radio.Just plug in the 436, and download what you now have on the sentinel. It will duplicate your programs on the 436
Yes, I use both. I use both the ARC Software and Sentinel. The Database are the same. There are only a few settings that are different (upsidedown text on 536, some dimming functions on 436) and the software basically differentiates these. As I make changes on the fly, I continually upload from one and download to the other , back and forth. Not a big deal.
