By the way, I did move the puck to a better location on the dash. Problem solved. GPS comes on every time, stays on.
Works better when it can "see" the satellites. DUKE, WB9OJD

What is the ideal location on top of dash? In corner near VIN number?

I placed it in a depression above and center above the steering wheel, away from the radio & mount about 4-6 inches. It gave the
GPS puck clear "view" thru the windshield. Duke, WB9OJD

There might be less electronics interferance at that location in your vehicle.
