5 teens in early morning accident, the first unit on scene was screaming for help as they found one had been thrown from the vehicle and ended up underneath it. 4 of the kids were airlifted to Methodist and Wishard hospitals in Indy. 4 including the driver were 18, one 16. I heard the first dispatch just after 4am 20 minutes later they dispatched a second fire department for assistance. The father of the only female in the car showed up at the scene and was a former firefighter he helped cut his daughter out of the car as well as some of the others. During the day some additional facts came out. One, the driver walked all the way to town to a friends passing numerous homes and not getting help for his friends. He instead went to the friends and got mouthwash! He then walked back to the scene and never stopped anywhere to get help! The father of the girl was so upset at one point after getting the trapped kids out of the car and the one under it that he hit the driver in head with a flashlight. The girl was transported to Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield where they stabilized her as she had low vitals as well as numerous fractures. She was then flown to Indy. This story will be ongoing with the actions of the driver. The girl remains in critical condition and has not been awake since the crash. Sadly, it was 2 years ago to the day the father of the girl lost her older sister after an asthma attack. Now he's wondering if he will lose this daughter.
Another teen who knows everyone involved came across the accident and stated when he got there the driver was gone then suddenly appeared.
