1 last question what adapter did you use to get it to hook up to the home patrol since it has a screw in antenna

I got an adapter for the coax connector. It goes
from male mini screw to female BNC. I then used
a BNC male from the coax. The basic mini PL adapter
that goes to a BNC I got from Bearcat Warehouse
with the scanner. I think it was $6.95 or so.

I don't take the adapter off the scanner when
moving it to car and back. I have a BNC connector
in the car to the R/S antenna. DUKE, WB9OJD

Iknew it was the answer! Some people "poo-poo"ed
the antenna because of construction, but I fixed
the screws in the base, took the mount off and
attached it to a Motorola type 3/4 inch NMO
mount on the trunk lip! It seems that antenna
makes fringe reception a possibility.
Good Move! DUKE WB9OJD
