I tried to log in 858.4375 (the local OCD) and the Home Patrol won't accept it. What are my doing wrong?

I guess I don't understand what you mean by "log in 858.4375". I just entered it in manual frequency mode with no problem.

I went to Advanced Menu, clicked "Quick Freq. Entry", put in the 858.4375 in the Frequency box and tried to click "accept" It wouldn't "accept" it. Are my doing something wrong?

I have to guess that the answer is "yes" but I cannot imagine what it is. Works just fine for me...

I played around with it some more and here is what I found.

1. when you enter the frequency, it takes that ONE only. It does not save it to the FAV section.
2. It appears that I cannot save the first frequency and enter an second one so that I can use both.
3. I have read and re-read the manual and cannot find out how to save more than one channel that can be continuously scanned. The manual says that the frequencies are in the "Public Service Band" yet I can't find anything close to that on the "Select Service Types."

Our primary OCD channel of 858.4375, has 10 additional TAC channels that I need to hear when covering an incident. For example, the fire company is called on Channel 8, and a TAC channel is assigned for air rescue, ICD post and mutual aid from L.A. County.

Maybe I have to purchase the "Extreme" software?????

All you are doing (above) is entering 1 freq. he HP will set on that 1 freq. If you need to add it to a Favorite, that is an entirely different process. You can edit a favorite in the HP - but I never have, easiest way is to add via Sentinel.

Don't think you can add a freq. to the regular database. It's not very clear WHAT you are doing. Your usage of LOG, OCD are too ambiguous. If they are NOT in the DB - need submitted to RR - or create a favorite.
