I live in St. Louis County and just bought an HP-2.

Fire Related Question:
St. Louis City dispatch and call back is very clear.
Can pick up dispatch for Central County FA for west and south county, but no truck call back fro either.
Can not pick-up any north county dispatch or call back.

Any ideas?

Do the trucks respond on tac channel. Not the dispatch channel
In my community they do. On original dispatch they say use tac 1 through 6 ..They may be different numbers though.. for your FD if they do it that way. Could be listed as Fire ground too.
