According to FCC filings, there are six frequencies licensed for use in Marion County for the state MARCS multi agency communication system. The emission designators are all 8K70D1W (P25 Linear Simulcast Modulation ASTRO (9.6 kbps in 12.5 kHz channel space). In Sentinel, favorites were created with type P25 and NAC is set to "NAC Search". Other MARCS services, presumably on other frequencies which are in the RR database, are decoded by Home Patrol. The range is set to zero. It was at twenty-five. Does anyone have suggestions for hearing the Sheriff on the Ohio MARCS?

Of course, the old FM transmissions are heard on Home Patrol, but those are in minimal use.

If they are on the new X2-TDMA MARCS-IP system and not the MARCS Motorola system, you won't be able to hear them.

This thread on RadioReference would seem to bear this out: forums.radioreference.com/ohio-radio-discussion-forum/261354-marion-ohio-sheriff-cant-hear-anymore-help.html

As always, thank you for your help. Perhaps that system can be added in an update to the HP-1.

The HomePatrol-1 cannot monitor the TDMA digital channels used on an X2-TDMA system.
