Personally, I don't know what the fascination is with Radio Shack. I've found their
prices to be high on high end products like the HP. I have purchased 2 HP's, one
in 2010 and another which arrived today. I ordered it from Bearcat Warehouse again
and like in 2010, it arrived in 3 days. I could wait that long, and spent $454, not $500 plus.
I think you were taking a real chance on Craiglist with electronics. If you actually did
get one for $100, you found a really desparate person for money. But. as always with
something like that, you take a chance at getting screwed royal and have NO warranty.
At least with a new unit, you have a guarantee, and can return it if it fails.
GOOD LUCK! DUKE, WB9OJD

P.S. Sure the unit from Madison not "hot" either?

The reason why I did happen to shop at Radio Shack was because I wanted to keep the money locally and also thought they would have it in stock.... thats what I get for thinking I guess. Also the HP-1 was on sale for $469, plus tax.
I now will do all my shopping online once again for these type of items, as now I have lost total faith in Rad Shack.

10-4 on that! So much for Radio Shack, uh?
I went to find an SMA male to BNC female, so could add an external antenna
like I did the first HP, and they don't stock it?! They had a female to female/
SMA to BNC, but that is basically useless. YET, they stock the radio and don't
have the adapter? Doesn't figure. DUKE, WB9OJD
