I have received my HP today from Scannermaster. I updated firmware & database immediately. Once i fired it up, I couldn't receive my closest system which is Waterloo Region Public Safety. It would pick up systems that were 50 miles away like Peel & Bruce. Others say there's has updated databases new within a few days but mine says 12/09/2010. Now when I try to update my database it says I have the newest vrsion, yet still I have 12/09/2010. Why won't mine update?

Ah, that date was the clue. It appears that Sentinel does not like "DD/MM/YYYY" format. I'll notify the engineers that a fix is needed. Meanwhile, you can get around this by going to Control Panel, select Regional Settings (might be called something slightly different, depending on your version of Windows) and changing the date format to "MM/DD/YYYY".

I went to a fresh third pc & saved sentinal on an external Hd then loaded it from there. No idea why that worked.

Probably because the 3rd PC's date format was MM/DD/YYYY.

Just confirmed on my PC that the date is in MM/DD/YYYY format.
