Can someone please tell me if there is upgrade files for the homepatrol for the new upgrades in the PEI/Nova Scotia
integrated system that can be downloaded for the HomePatrol.. Thanks Here is the news release from The Charlottetown Guardian as of this date. . . Is the Home patrol able to receive the new upgraded PICS 2 radios??????

First responders in Prince Edward Island use a provincial integrated communications system (PICS), which has had its share of issues over the years.

Some departments, agencies and first responders could not use the PICS system because of limited coverage and reliability of the outdated technology.

Government is replacing all original PICS radios used by the Island fire service with upgraded PICS 2 radios.

These radios will allow for better communication with Island EMS and will cost less to maintain.

The new PICS 2 radio system can be used by any authorized user groups, including public safety and public utility service providers.

When was the last time you updated your Home Patrol?

From the main screen on the Home Patrol, select MENU --> ADVANCED MENU --> scroll down arrow --> VERSION INFORMATION

What does it say there for the date of the database?

The Radio Reference Database (where the Home Patrol database originates from) shows the PICS2 system:

www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=7924

Everything shown at that link is already in the Home Patrol database, with only the exception of 4 talk groups that were updated yesterday. There seems to be some empty place holders for more PEI system info. As more updates are made to that database, they will be included in future updates to the Home Patrol database.

Note that anything with an "E" in the mode column at that link is encrypted, and cannot be monitored by any scanner and won't be included in the Home Patrol database updates..

Note also that the RR database at that link is a user supported utility, you or someone from your area with exact knowledge of that system's new parameters, and has verified that information by actually receiving transmissions, should submit that information to the RR database at this link:

www.radioreference.com/apps/submit/

After reading these guidelines:

wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/RR_Database_Submission_Guidelines

Once the information submission has been approved by RR and added to their database, it will show up in the subsequent Home Patrol database updates.
